After 230km in 22 days through Labrador’s interior (from Schefferville) I dragged the ol’ sled out to the Trans Labrador Wilderness Highway Friday, just west of Churchill Falls. What a treat to see my supportive and legend of a wife Heather for the first time in 4 months! That completes Part 2 of Expedition Northeast’s winter leg.

One highlight of the last few weeks was seeing 4 large black wolves together crossing Dyke Lake. What a majestic thrill! Very few will experience it in their life and I am grateful I did.

It’s now been 250 days since I left Hudson Bay near Puvirnituq, Quebec(Nunavik) in canoe July 6th last year. In total I have covered 1567km -1130 by canoe with Saku and 437 alone by snowshoe. All of it across one of the planets last great wilderness areas. And there’s plenty more to go. I will resume the journey heading southeast to Newfoundland’s south coast this week. Still lots of winter left here in the Northland.

Periodic GPS updates will come. But not too many. This day in age everything is spoiled on social media before it is finished or even begins! I appreciate old school ways and am trying my best to keep surprises for the resulting documentary, book and live speaking events.

Take care and thanks a million for the continued support!

Happy & exciting trails,

Justin
